Energy Tax Credit
There is no better time to replace your windows with energy efficient windows than right now. The federal government developed a tax credit to homeowners who install new, energy efficient windows and/or doors in 2009-2010 as a part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. To qualify for the tax credit, the windows and/or doors must meet certain criteria. The two qualifiers for the windows are the U-Factor and the Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC). Both the U-Factor and the SHGC must be less than or equal to 0.30.
Even though many windows in the industry are more energy efficient than a home’s existing windows, the federal government has set these standards to qualify windows for the tax credit.
Restorations Windows through Weather Tight qualify for the tax credit. As you can see to the left, the U-Factor for our Restorations Triple-Glazed window is 0.18 and the Solar Heat Gain Coefficient is 0.22. Both numbers are less than the criteria to qualify for the tax credit.
By installing Restorations Windows through Weather Tight, you will earn a tax credit of 30% of the cost of your windows, up to $1500!*

*Tax credit is valid for the cost of the product only. Installation does not qualify for the tax credit. Windows and/or doors must be installed by December 31, 2010 to qualify.
