Our Story

From One Truck to Wisconsin’s Largest Remodeler

In 1986, Tod Colbert started Weather Tight with a truck, a passion for exterior remodeling, and a simple belief: treat every customer the way you’d want to be treated. After the window company he’d been working for closed, Tod saw an opportunity — not just to start a business, but to do things the right way.

Todd Schulz joined in 1990 as a leading sales manager in the industry. Together, Tod and Todd built a reputation that no marketing budget could manufacture: they were honest, they showed up, and they stood behind their work. Customers started recognizing them from their TV commercials — and trusting them because of their results.

Over 40 years later, that founding philosophy lives in every person on our team. Weather Tight is now employee-owned, which means everyone here has a personal stake in your satisfaction.
