Meet Tod Colbert
Tod Colbert has always been interested in what makes people tick. He graduated from college with a degree in psychology and worked as a social worker before changing career paths and taking his knowledge of human behavior into sales.
It’s this deep understanding of how people think that has driven Tod to lead a customer-service focused company. His empathy, understanding, and connection to customers helped him succeed as a salesperson in the home improvement industry.
Born in a small town in Ohio, Tod’s career took him through Chicago, until he landed in Milwaukee and fell in love with the great city. When the company he was working for closed, he decided to make Wisconsin his permanent home and founded Weather Tight.
The company began humbly. Tod knocked on doors and canvassed neighborhoods. Little by little, Weather Tight’s reputation grew and so did the business. When Todd Schulz joined the business in 1990 as a salesperson, he and Tod Colbert quickly connected. Todd brought additional talents and business experience to the team and became a partner in 1993.
This partnership helped Weather Tight grow into the vibrant business it is today. With Tod and Todd at the helm, the company moved through larger and larger spaces across the city. In 2007, they built the West Allis headquarters, employing over 100 team members.
In Tod's spare time, he's an avid photographer. He loves traveling with his wife and documenting their adventures on film as well as capturing sweet moments of his grandchildren. Tod's comfort behind the camera translated to comfort in front of the camera as well. The Home Improvement Tips with Tod and Todd videos have become a favorite source of information for customers; many mention how positive they feel about Tod and Todd, thanks to their thorough explanations and candid clips.
Today, Weather Tight is a thriving, employee-owned company. As the President, Tod is proud of the strong reputation for customer care and satisfaction.

Meet Todd Schulz
When Todd Schulz interviewed for the sales position with Weather Tight, he had no idea it was going to take him into a business partnership.
Todd started working in remodeling at the young age of 15 when his neighbor offered him a summer job helping to build homes. He worked his way through high school and college, putting in evenings and weekends at a lumberyard. He graduated college with a Marketing Degree and immediately started selling windows and siding for a Weather Tight competitor.
When Tod Colbert found Todd, he asked him to interview for a sales job at Weather Tight. It was clear from the get-go that Todd had great skills when it came to marketing and growing a business.
Several months of work with Todd made it quickly evident he and Tod shared a similar work ethic. Their friendship and business relationship grew because they shared a vision and aspirations for the future of Weather Tight. Todd was promoted to Sales Manager.
But Todd still felt he wanted more from his career. He was hours away from his family and he wanted to have a stake in a business. He told Tod he was considering moving on…but instead, Tod asked him to become a partner at Weather Tight.
Todd accepted and he and Tod have been partners for over 25 years.
At heart, Todd is an entrepreneur. He has a talent for business and it's where his passion resides. When he joined Weather Tight, they were very small, but Todd came on as the missing piece. The business expanded very quickly between 1993 and 2007 when they moved into their West Allis headquarters. Since then, the business has continued to thrive, winning local and national awards.
But Todd’s not ALL business. In his spare time, he loves outdoor activities, including boating, fishing, and attending to his hunting property. Deer management is a passion of his and he looks forward to feeding and helping cultivate a healthy herd each season. He also loves spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
The most common question Tod and Todd are asked is, “Are you brothers?” And while, no, they aren’t brothers, they’re both very proud to be the founding fathers of the Weather Tight family and they are both really named Tod(d).
