1986 – 1990

In 1986, after the window company he was working for closed, Tod Colbert took his passion for exterior remodeling and desire to own his own business, and started Weather Tight. What began as a one-man operation steadily grew into the area’s best team with a reputation of being fair and reliable.

1990 – 2011

Todd Schulz joined the company in 1990. At the time, he was a leading sales manager in the industry and soon became vice president of Weather Tight. Before long, Tod and Todd were recognized as the state’s leading exterior remodeling team—and as the faces of Weather Tight.

2011 – 2022

In 2011, Tod and Todd first hit the airwaves across Southeastern Wisconsin, and in 2014 the duo’s “Tod & Todd’s Home Improvement Tips” TV ads debuted. The pair quickly became recognized for their regular on-air segments and the company’s “Home Makeover Sweepstakes.”

2023

On May 29, 2023, our dear friend and colleague, Todd Schulz, passed away at age 59 from a rare form of colon cancer.

Todd was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and a lifelong member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).

For 33 years, we were blessed to have Todd as a leader in our Weather Tight family. We will greatly miss his commitment to homeowners and the business, his positive attitude and sense of humor.

2023 – 2025

After Todd passed away, Tod and the rest of the Weather Tight team carried on his legacy by continuing to contribute to the community in positive ways and continuing to offer homeowners in Southeastern Wisconsin home maintenance tips and sweepstakes opportunities.

2026

On July 12, 2026, after a hard fought battle with Leukemia, our founder and friend Tod Colbert passed away surrounded by his family at the age of 68.

As a testament to his belief in shared success, before Tod and Todd passed away, they converted Weather Tight into an employee-owned company and Tod served as its dedicated president until his passing.
